WELCOME TO JANE MAGAZINE!!!!

Mikki - Queen of the Jungle

Announcement

August 1st, 2003

Doing some more remodeling.  Thanks for your patience!  Moving the site to a new host, in a few days when you type www.scribbledthoughts.com you'll be taken to the new site, which will probably look a lot like this one, but will allow a little more freedom in how things are designed, and what extensions will work here.

Also, in case you are wondering why I am welcoming Jane Magazine, it is cuz I am shamelessly sucking up in order to possibly get a job from them.  Where I could be paid to be mean and hateful.  Every little girl's dream!

Groovy Quotes

"You can't choose what you write.  No one comes down to you, sitting on a pink cloud, and says, "I'm going to give you the ability to write.  So, which talent do you want?  The Jane Austin novel that lives forever, or the kind that makes you lots of money while you're alive, but dies when you do?"  No one gives you that choice.  You just take whatever talent you're given and thank God four times a day for giving you any talent at all."

-Jude Devereaux, Wild Orchids, 2003

"We should write because it is human nature to write.  Writing claims our world.  It makes it directly and specifically our own.  We should write because humans are spiritual beings and writing is a powerful form of prayer and meditation, connecting us both to our own insights and to a higher and deeper level of inner guidance."

"We should write because writing brings clarity and passion to the act of living.  Writing is sensual, experiential, grounding.  We should write because writing is good for the soul.  We should write because writing yields us a body of work, a felt path through the world we live in."

"We should write, above all, because we are writers, whether we call ourselves that or not."

-Julia Cameron, The Right to Write, 1998

Rants-N-Raves

FYI-We tested these articles on people in our neighborhood, and 9 out of 10 homeless think its funnier if read out loud.  To take that a little further.. I have been told recently that people are reading these things to themselves using my voice??  If you figure out how to read this to yourself using my voice.. please be sure to call me.. I'd like to hear me read me a few lines of something.. :)
